Welcome!
Welcome to the SENNS Ethnography Writing Group. This writing group is for students who have engaged in long-term ethnographic fieldwork as part of their PhD and are now in the writing stage. During the sessions, participants will have the opportunity to share a piece of ethnographic writing (from your thesis, fieldnotes, or an upcoming publication) and receive constructive peer-to-peer feedback from other students.
The group is funded by the South and East Network for Social Sciences (SENNS) Training Fund, but is open to all students engaged in ethnography regardless of funding! The Ethnography Writing Group for Post-Fieldwork students runs bi-weekly during academic term-time.
By the end of the group, we hope you will have developed your skills in ethnographic writing and peer-review (useful for futures in teaching and editorial work), as well as your knowledge of what ethnography is and can be. Most importantly, we hope this group fosters a thriving community of researchers with SENNS who are united by a commitment to rich ethnographic research.
